Having a blast with Nuke (get it?)

Finished the high quality, cinematic logo render today and brought it into Nuke for adding some stuff at the end and some DoF. Turned out the render had some minor artifacts, so got to practice my roto skills. First time I’ve tried roto in Nuke and it worked great
Adding DoF using Z-depth maps didn’t though. The results I got were plain weird so I’m probably doing something wrong. Will put up the animation when I’ve solved the problem.
In other news Andreas returned to school today from an illness. Great to have him back. We decided to start storyboarding as quickly as possible due to the next looming deadline. As drawing isn’t my cup of tea, I worked on the desert landscape, trying to figure out how to create a huge landscape without making the computers lay down and die. I tried and ruled out a few techniques, falling back to the technique used in the post below.
