These were a series of smaller exercises combined with my determination to learn V-Ray.
The exercises went like this:
- Create a dinner table and chairs
- Create objects you would normally find on a dinner table
- Create a dining room
- Apply textures to the room
- Apply basic lighting
- Apply advanced lighting
Since all the exercises were based around the same theme, I decided to recreate the family dining room. As you might have noticed it isn’t quite finished though: Almost everything is out of proportion as I didn’t do much measuring and did most of the modeling by eye. Some of the models have problems and the polygon count is generally so high that if I wanted to finish the image, I would have to redo some of them to free up resources. There are also some models I’ve created but not implemented (curtains and a couple of others), a handful of models that never even got made and the texturing is really in the early stages. Before I had finished however, we had to hand in the exercises and move on to other stuff, and as the scene had gotten a bit heavy, I put it on ice. I might finish it some day, I might not. I still learned loads though, it was very good practice for the next assignment and overall I think it turned out rather well, even in its unfinished form
